"Great spot to stay, away from the crowds, and amongst beautiful scenery. The general lodge is well established, cute and comfortable cabins, clean and enough space for a couple. The bed and sheets are great and the shower/tub looks like a new insert. Great water pressure and lots of hot water. The unit has a small kitchenette with a tiny fridge, sink and microwave. Best for breakfasts and making up picnics for the road. The site hosts a huge store with good selection, a gas station and a restaurant (2). We ate in the bar in the evenings: very good service and menu. We had breakfast one morning in the second restaurant. Good menu and tasty food. Our wait staff was excellent- a lovely woman from the DR. Efficient and friendly etc. Our only complaint is that she was alone in that restaurant to handle all of the diners and that impacted the experience in a negative way. Not her fault at all. We spoke with the woman at the front desk and suggested she assist in some way but she was adamant that she had to stay at the front desk at all times. Wouldn’t even consider bussing the dirty tables or speaking to the seated customers with assurances. Wanted nothing to do with it. No customers out at her desk, an open door to monitor if some came and a bunch of angry and hungry customers waiting a long time. Perhaps some training is needed there. Otherwise, a good place to be to explore the area"
