I would say that Nagano is a fantastic option to visit in the Winter although my experience was very good in October too. The area around the temple is lovely and clean

We stayed three nights a night too long because we did not have our own transportation. But trains and buses go to many places to see for the day. Temple worth seeing and lots of restaurants

"My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Kokusai 21. It's a nice and big hotel and the staff were all very kind. The rooms were spacious and clean. They also offer a breakfast buffet for a fee and it's really amazing. It's not easy to find a place to eat in the morning, so having a breakfast buffet in the hotel was really great and convenient. I definitely recommend staying here if you are in Nagano."
