Comfortable and run by lovely people.
The attached restaurant is very good too.
Wonderful staff the owner is a lovely woman who goes above and beyond. The gear room is awesome. The room is average with the basics a little rough around the edges but has everything you need. Breakfast is large and good.

The hosts are great and goos people. The breakfast is good. It is very close to the slopes for skiing. The walls are very thin and neighbors can be very loud. The rooms are very small and the space could be utilized a lot better, it can get very cramped especially with luggage. There is a good child friendly common space, and a place to store ski equipment.
Quite possibly one of the hidden gems of Hakuba Goryu. If you want the true Hakuba local experience and taken back in time, this is your spot. No frills and feel like you are staying with your relatives. Amazing hosts that go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant.
As for proximity to Goryu base, we walked it back (10 mins) at the end of every day so it’s very close.
Since most of the Japan Ski resorts are mobbed by foreign tourists, getting away from the commercialized sections of Hakuba is really nice. This will give you that experience. Definitely a place I would stay at again and again, if available.

A youth hostel style hotel good for young winter sports lovers
House owner is very nice and helpful, if you are stayed for ski, please tell the owner, his advice is useful! The house is big and warm, room is clean and comfortable. I would like to stay longer if I have time.
