We chose this hotel because we were looking for a quiet spot, and the location on a side street seemed promising. We were happy to find that to be true, and the room itself was great. Nice bathroom, tall ceiling and comfy bed. The set up is kind of odd, with the all the amenities and desk around the corner on camp street, but wasn’t much of an inconvenience. We would stay there again.

The property has many cool looking features about it. It's a great renovation of the space, and the rooms look very cool. We had a deck which was a nice feature, but the furniture on it was in rough shape, our tv had been damaged so basically unusable, the door did not open/close well so you had to slam it with your shoulder, and the toilet refill mechanism made a constant filling noise and needed replacement. The staff were very nice and helpful, but clearly some issues need tending to.

Staff was very friendly. It’s in a convenient area so you can walk every where,but the shower did not have enough pressure, the room had a weird smell and it didn’t look like the pictures. It was like staying in an abandoned building. The lights in the bathroom are very dim.

Loved the egg shell bathtub. Favorite part of stay. Central location for walking. From outside looked sketchy and had to check in at hotel around the block. The staff there was excellent and very hospitable, but the occasional staff at the Loft was unfriendly and didn’t even greet you when entering. Definitely a contemporary room and felt cold with cement floors. Yet that tub was amazing. First night very loud party upstairs in penthouse about 1am.

The room was huge and nice! Not a fan of the shower at all!! The thing I didn’t liked was communication on where to go to check in as we didn’t get there till late and there was no attendant in the front desk so we couldn’t get it at all until another person staying there came along and told us where to go which happened to be at a different hotel front desk which was maybe half a block away. Other that location was great maybe little over a mile from the French Quarter.

Pros and Cons: First Pros: location, clean and spacious room. Cons: Check-in instructions were missing from Hotels.com (screenshot available).The hotel's front door was locked and no one was in the lobby. Check-in instructions would have stated check-in is 1/2 block away at another hotel. The staff did not answer the phone after repeated calls for assistance. Another guest leaving Loft 523 told us where we needed to go for help. 2nd issue - assigned room 1: no window coverings for privacy or to darken the room for sleep. They moved us to another room. 3rd issue: 2nd room had window covering for privacy, but did not block the street light at night nor the morning light at 6am. 4th issue: 2nd room's shower and tub both needed repair. The shower heads came out as a mist with no downward direction (clogged). Upon check-out, I advised the front desk clerk to have maintenance attend to the bathroom issues. We dealt with the inconvenience as we did not want to move to a 3rd room (assuming one was available)

Really challenging to find. Description should tell you which hotel to go to for checkin and parking. It’s not the hotel right next to the units but down a block and across a busy street. And there is no where to park to load and unload luggage before you have your car parked. Got a parking ticket in 5 mins trying to get our luggage to the car. Tub and shower were cool but bad water pressure. Bed was comfortable. But just not as cool a property as it looked online.
