Stayed for the first time at this hotel during a recent trip to NYC. It was a 5-night stay, and it was fine. It was a great location and the room was clean but there were a few odd things about the stay.
First the front door was always locked and your room key didn't provide access, so every time you wanted to enter the hotel you had to "ring the doorbell" (the doorbell didn't work) or knock on the door so someone could let you in, but if the staff was not at the front desk, you sometimes had to wait.
My room also didn't have a shower curtain, which I thought was strange. Granted, I didn't say anything and it was fine. But they also didn't clean my room once over the course of my five day stay. Again, I didn't say anything so partly my fault, but it was just odd. If it had been a shorter stay, I might not have minded, but in 5 days, the room should have been cleaned at least once or twice.
All that being said, it wasn't unclean and the staff was friendly. There was nothing bad about my stay, but the locked front door and lack of shower curtain were definitely different.
