"It serves a purpose if all you're using it for is to rest your head. Situated in a good location however the whole place looks as if it's trapped in the 70s. The place also smelt musty and the carpets were worn away they're that old."

"This was a very old property that had been altered to meet modern standards. Fairly basic but adequate. The accommodation was over a pub which inevitably was noisy but quiet after 11 pm There was no parking and no breakfast The staff were not visible but I was able to leave my luggage there after the 11am check out"

"I booked this room for one night with my two young children to attend a sporting event nearby. The hotel is situated very near to the railway station and above a very noisy pub. The room itself is very basic which was fine for our one night stay and we appreciate there is little to be done about the outside noise however the window was broken we had to wedge it shut, this didnt help with the noise volume. The water was cold in the evening which meant cold showers before bed the room overall was very dusty/ not properly cleaned and the mugs for tea were dirty/unwashed. Overall the room lacked proper care and attention it was tired and in need of some repair some of the furniture was broken and in need of replacement bits were peeling off and the bathroom shelves were stained. The heating /towel rail also couldnt be switched on /off. The blind at the windo was also broken. We ended up going to our event the next day very tired as we were uncomfortable and kept awake for most of the night."

"Excellent, loved everything about our stay. Great position close to river and town centre. Very warm welcome, room 10 was really nice, large and decorated in a funky Darwin theme, with a great view of garden. Breakfast was really nice with a great choice, all staff really friendly and looked after us well."

"Rooms were clean and staff were helpful. Had booked a room with a double bed. It was small - more three quarters size. Room was also small and the bathroom was tiny. Noise from other rooms adjacent (light switches being turned on) was more than you would expect, and when taps were run or toilets flushed in adjacent rooms it was very loud. Cooked breakfast was below par - ingredients seemed to be basic/cheap. Car parking is tight and easy for your car to be blocked in. No water supplied to drink in rooms and only 2 tea bags provided for a double room with 2 people staying. Not a terrible hotel but for £145 a night in Shrewsbury we expected more."
