Our recent stay at this Holiday Inn was a mess from the moment we checked in. Within 5 minutes of getting into our room, another family knocked on our door—turns out they were given key cards to the exact same room. That was the first red flag.
The side of the hotel we were on was under construction, which we didn’t mind, and the pool being closed the first day due to storms wasn’t their fault. But everything else just snowballed from there.
Late at night, the paper-thin walls made it impossible to relax—every sound from the next room came through, down to people breathing. So much for peace and quiet.
Around 11pm, we realized our room had only three pillows—for six people. As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, a fire alarm in our room started beeping every 30 seconds. We called the front desk, and they sent someone up… with pillows. That person had no clue about the fire alarm issue. It took another call and finally, two hours later at 2am, maintenance showed up.
The next morning, the pool was finally open—but it was disgusting. Trash and used towels everywhere, and worst of all, my son got hair wrapped around his hand while wading through the water. Just gross.
While the room rates might seem like a good deal, the chaos, lack of cleanliness, and complete lack of privacy make this one of the worst hotel stays we’ve ever had. Would not stay here again.
