"I booked a luxury suite with two beds and a large room through Expedia, but upon arrival, the room, while nice, had only one bed and a sofa bed, and was much smaller than advertised. The staff were wonderful, though: since I was traveling with my senior parents, they kindly moved us to a larger room, though it still came with a sofa bed that wasn't very comfortable.
That said, the location is fantastic and the staff are amazing — I'll definitely stay here again and very soon. The lesson learned is simply not to book through Expedia next time.
A couple of tips: bring earplugs, as there are bars nearby and things can get loud at night with people out late. I'd also recommend requesting a room on the 3rd or 4th floor to avoid the noise upstairs. (No elevators so be prepared to take stairs but it's totally doable, my 80 YO dad with back ache was able to comfortably go up and down to the 3rd floor. )"
"The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the staff very friendly. The reason for the 4 vs 5 stars is 1) at check in everything was not explained properly and felt very rushed (I will admit there were several people waiting) For example, no info on the daily activities. I’m not sure they even knew? Was also given wrong information on bathrooms which made an awkward situation.. 2) though this place is so beautiful it just feels like it needs some love. The little things are just looked over. For example, the shower curtains fly open at the littlest bit of wind.. a simple hook and ring would fix that. Very cheap fix and prevent guests from exposing themselves.
3) the daily activities were not everyday as advertised. Father’s Day we were there and were anticipating smores by the camp fire. They just decided now to do it I guess?… huge bummer.
Overall, the scenery was absolutely amazing and the staff always kind when chatting, but just a little more attention to detail and better communication would go a long way. So much potential!"
"The entire stay was delightful! My party and I stayed for two nights and truly all we needed was a place to rest our heads and shower off the day at the end of the night. This place had exactly that. They welcomed us and were extremely kind checking us in. The breakfast was extremely appreciated, nothing too fancy but just enough to power the start of our day. The biggest plus in my opinion was the rooftop lounge. It was a great way to start the day, taking in the view of the ocean. Or end the day in the cool breeze with your friends. The rooms themselves were very neat and had everything we needed. There was a microwave and fridge, perfect for our leftovers. The bed was comfortable and my husband enjoyed the air conditioner very much. At the end of our stay we were able to leave our luggage with them after check out and come back to get things as we needed them until it was time for our ferry. Everyone who worked here was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the island, so we got to know where the best places to go were. It is up a hill so, just be warned of that. That didn’t deter me none, but, definitely was a little workout. I’d recommend this place to any of my friends and I would 100% stay here again. ☺️"
"The room was very clean. I love the little coffee and donut bar they put out in the morning. It is right on the main drag of the harbor and so convenient if you want to grab a white eat ice cream or walk out the green Pier whatever it is right there. The vanity in the bathroom could have been a little larger as there is hardly any room to set anything on it. If room 211 is taking a shower it gets noisy in room 212. Overall however this has been a great place to stay, the only thing I find wrong is the size of the vanity and a little bit of a noise from a shower next door.... I would definitely stay here again and recommend it."
