I walked almost everywhere, from the cloud forest to a coffee farm (Café La Bella Tica, highly recommended), to the downtown Santa Elena area. I like walking, so the location was fine for me (I averaged about 10.5 miles per day). They have one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. “We absolutely LOVED this place! My kids said it’s hands down the best place we’ve ever stayed. The treehouse is magical, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the staff super friendly and helpful, the kitchen perfectly appointed. I couldn’t speak higher of this perfect spot. Even walkable to town (sidewalk the whole way) although a bit far with young kids. And the local store just around the corner had everything we needed. The trail around the property we walked multiple times and all enjoyed....

The bed and linens were amazingly comfortable. It was wonderful to sit outside in the hot tub or inside by the fire. I can’t recommend this place enough. ”

“Rancho de Lelo Ecolodge is a family owned small lodge, located about 20 minutes from the main area of Monte Verde. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay with this charming family. The National Park is only 10-15 minutes drive. The farm to table cuisine was awesome. Highly recommended. ”

“Rooms are cabin like. No air conditioning or pool but evenings were cooler. Lots of different tours and shopping experiences. Hard to park in town but found a good restaurant with a parking lot. Staff were very nice and knowledgeable ”
