"Clean rooms but smaller than what I'm used to for a hampton. The staff could be more welcoming but then again I didn't have much interaction with them. The pool had no towels and the basket that had the dirty towels were overflowing. Would've been nice to have towels stocked for a weekend."
"We were less than impressed. The room was not the cleanest - the carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed. There were little piles of dirt in certain places and stains throughout the room. The fridge in the room did not work and the air conditioner did not work well either - it was so hot in our room. Breakfast was good. Staff was nice. "
TownePlace Suites by Marriott - Des Moines Urbandale
2/10 Terrible
"Cons:
So the door to our room was super hard to open. Most of the stuff in the kitchen was missing. There was no way to clean the dishes or use the dishwasher due to soap missing and went to the front desk and no one could find it. No blankets on the beds only sheets and blankets for the sleeper couch. The grab bar in the shower was unusable because the bolts were lose and coming out. The hotel is renovating which is great. The biggest issue was on Mother's Day they were painting no a huge big deal but there was nothing posted about it. We go in the elevator due to my husband being a disabled vet not able to use the stairs and a daughter with asthma. The toxic fumes in the elevator were so bad we were stuck in our room and my daughter had a severe asthma attack. Everyone got headaches but couldn't go anywhere due to the elevator not an option. So spent most of my Mother's Day in our room and the fume even got into our room. I asked what was being done and was told by front desk that they were going to reach out to management. Nothing and then when I asked for someone from management to call me nothing. This was the wirst Marriott stay to date and makes me rethink ever staying with them again which sucks because we have loved staying with them in the past"
"Lots of construction going on. Rooms were ok. There was no coffee pot in our room. No employee available to ask for one. Couch was dirty in room pull out couch was very poor. The remote in the room had one for both tvs, not convenient. "
"I checked in on Friday with my service dog. The staff was great. I was asked what floor and I suggested one closest to the ground. The hotel was very clean and stocked. My bed was very comfortable and I definitely will be back and I highly recommend"
