Porte-de-Benauge, Nouvelle-Aquitaine hotel rooms at the Independent

"Lovely modern hotel with excellent helpful staff. It was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed. While it is convenient for the train station the area is under development so it’s a mixture of new and derelict buildings which didn’t inspire confidence especially at night. It’s quite a distance into Bordeaux centre and the commute wasn’t helped by the trams in the area not running. However, once we understood the bus services we coped fine. Despite these issues would stay there again for the quality of hotel and service."

"Lovely hotel outside of St. Emilion. The restaurant is exceptionally good; the staff are very attentive and will go out of their way to make the stay better. The hotel amenities are also good (a lovely pool). The downside is the limited shuttles in to St. Emilion - given the distance from St. Emilion these should be more regular."
