We complained about excessive fan noise on the first day, which remained unaddressed. Despite our efforts to tolerate it, the noise became unbearable. The situation was further exacerbated by water pipes banging loudly from 3:03 AM to 4:33 AM, making our stay intolerable.
We then escalated these issues to Barbara, the Assistant Manager. She informed us that a 24-hour departure notice was required. Given that our six-night booking was made through Expedia, Barbara stated she would contact them to arrange a refund for the three nights we did not stay.
However, our attempt to secure this refund via Expedia was unsuccessful. We received an email from Expedia indicating they could not obtain approval from the property manager to waive the cancellation fee, and consequently, the refund could not be granted. This outcome is deeply frustrating, demonstrating a clear failure by the hotel to resolve a significant comfort issue and by Expedia to secure the promised refund, leaving us to pay for an unacceptable experience.
