“The staff at the reception and breakfast were welcoming and accommodating. Unfortunately the property was old and looks difficult to maintain and the initial room given to us smelt mouldy setting off my hay fever and partners asthma. Reception quickly gave us another room which was better. Shower and breakfast was nice and the stay was overall pleasant.”

“Beautifully manor house just outside of Chester with plenty of free parking. The room was spacious and clean. There was plenty of space to relax in the bar area as well as a terrace. Good value for money.”

“The breakfast was very good although my wife expected fresh grapefruit and cheese. Evening meal very good with excellent friendly service, however I had a very funny version of a prawn cocktail. Car parking excellent. Hotel very difficult to find but once driven fairly easy to navigate. Walked into town which was closer than we thought. Bedrooms small but warm.”

“The room was basic but clean. Worked well as a base for our Chester Zoo trip to avoid a rush in the morning. The hotel is quite dated but that didn't bother us. Unfortunately we were placed next to a long term stay who we heard hitting/kicking his dog during the night. This was reported and we were told it would be handled correctly. This spoiled our stay as we couldn't settle after this worrying about the poor dog. Breakfast was okay. Staff were friendly, but didn't seem to be many of them to...
