“Needed an escape from the London heat, and the price was affordable for inclusive breakfast, swimming pool and free parking. On arrival the staff was lackluster, but I guess we were all feeling the heat. I was caught off guard that we had to book a pool session and it only lasted 45 mins. I guess it was a busy time but still found it highly unusual. The room was clean and spacious with all basic amenities. The hotel is less than 5 mins to the main shopping area. “Really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Check in staff were really friendly and efficient. Great breakfast and lovely bar area too. Our room was lovely, overlooking the river. It was warm and with no air con the room was a little hot, but they had a fan and we asked for the window restrictor to be removed which helped a lot! Great location, less than 10 minutes walk in to the centre of Chester. Great stay and would stay again 😊”

“Stayed at this hotel for four nights and the staff were outstanding. Everyone—from reception to the restaurant and bar—offered excellent customer service. They were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel’s location was also perfect for getting around York.”

“A marvellous chateau style hotel. Loved walking into the place with its great staircase. A bit of a distance from the the coast although a shuttle bus is provided. Good food and helpful staff….could change the menu a bit more often. Bedrooms were clean, spacious and well maintained.”

“The pool has literal lumps of black dirt on the tiles, it hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. The jacuzzi is the same temperature as the pool and also dirty. No shower facilities after the “swim” Run down hotel, breakfast staff were just there, never said good morning, no interaction from any staff actually. Won’t be staying there again. ”
