The location is good. " Bonus" supermarket is near by. Friendly suggestions: 1/ When we get into the apartment, a bad smell coming out from the bathroom drain. We have to pour some water in the floor drain to get the smell out. 2/ Please have the coffee, tea bags and paper towel ready on the counter top. Not everyone is tall enough to reach at the upper cupboard where they are placed.

This property is located in the suburbs of Reykjavik -- on the eastern edge of town. There is an important issue not made clear on the Expedia listing: there is no receptionist. Nobody is there at the site. Even if you book here on Expedia, the owner will email you a code that you use to enter the property and your room. I did not know this and got stranded at the door searching for the email for about 10 minutes. The apartment itself was quiet, spacious and bright -- I liked it. Downside is that they don't make up your room daily or remove your trash. I stayed for 3 nights, and they never made my room. The washing machine on my floor was broken. There is plenty of parking in front of the building. Locations is great for exploring Iceland -- it is better than staying downtown. I saw solo travelers, families and couples.

We enjoyed our stay at Icelandic Apartments. The facilities were clean and the kitchen was fairly well equipped. The only issues we had were with the door and room code, as well as the code to the laundry area for towels. However, the host worked with us to solve the issues and the response was immediate. We would stay there again.

It was a nice property, had all the utensils you would need to cook, we had an inconvenient one time we got to the apartment and we get in the shower 3 minutes later no water. Apparently the town decided to do maintenance and we were going to be without water for hours. No communication whatsoever from the host letting us know, so here we are with soap using water bottles to shower when they knew what was going on and could’ve send a message. Very disappointing night. Other than bad communication, everything else is good and good location.

We stayed 3 nights as a family of four with two young kids and loved it. Spacious, clean apartment with a handy kitchenette and shared laundry. Free parking was a huge plus — no downtown parking hassle — and it’s just a 10‑minute drive to the city. Grocery store right across the street made meals easy. Perfect base for exploring Reykjavík and beyond!
