"This is a very unique place off the beaten path, yet worth the effort if you like or love eclectic places or just the feeling. There is a beautiful garden area with random art all throughout. The smell is incredible with all the foliage. Food is good. I cannot say how much we loved the atmosphere. Beds aren’t soft, but still you sleep well enough. "

"This place was perfect for what we were looking for, situated in the village of Santa Maria del Guidice. It was the perfect setting to experience the real Italy but so close to both Pisa and the outstanding beautiful Lucca which is a must visit. The hotel itself is situated at the top of the village perfectly placed for stunning views of the Tuscany rolling hills from both the breakfast/dining terrace and the infinity pool. We had a superior double room which was large and spacious and the decor was in keeping with the renaissance building. Probably not to everyone's taste but exactly what we were looking for, we didn't want to be in a corporate hotel that could have been anywhere in the world. We loved the quirky safe in the stone wall. The bed was great and the shower very powerful, towels and toiletries were changed and stocked each day, the shower gels etc were really nice! Breakfast was your typical continental, cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruit etc along with various sweet treats as well and no complaints at all . We only had lunch twice at the hotel but it was good portions and very nice. If was a limited menu with Paninis, flat breads and a different pasta each day but definitely value for money. We only ate dinner once , the food was good but unfortunately the service let us down a bit on the night, we put this down to the large wedding also being catered for. Overall a fantastic stay.special mention for Daria , she was so helpful and always smiling! "
