"The room was clean and spacious.Breakfast was above average. The only qualm we had was the game room equipment was mostly broken, but we had laughs trying to play with pool sticks that had no tips or were out of whack."

"I found an Olive Garden mint under one of the beds, so I was unable to rate the hotel excellent for being clean. Staff was excellent, moving us to a room to accommodate my spouse's broken foot (shower with a bench seat) at the last minute. Good location for tourist traffic, although no on-site cafe or lounge. Most anything was available at nearby gas station or the Walmart just down the hill. I will stay here again."

"Clean room. Only complaint, lack of hot water in the shower and the shower head was way too low. Other than that, would stay here again."

"We got there just as everything was opening. The lodge is clean , comfortable and helpful in showing us where the outside camp kitchen was in order to grill steaks. Sleeping was a little challenging as a bus full of teenagers pulled up and basically ran up and down the halls and stairs all night. Kids will be kids. I was just wondering where are the adults. It was kinda rude and inconsiderate"

"Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Breakfast is amazing and real flatware and silverware. Do not hang the do not disturb on your door handle while taking a shower as they will not clean your room. We left to tour the Black Hills for the day and when we returned Housekeeping had done nothing to our room. Called down to the front desk and they told me it was my fault as the do not disturb was on the door and they do not come around to double check. They also do not knock on the door as the next morning I left it off when I got in the shower and they walked right into the room my wife was shocked and thankfully I was only half naked but still embarassed. So if you want a clean room do not put up the do not disturb but your at risk of being exposed. They did bring up fresh towels and take out the trash as I requested that to be done."

"Absolutely Stunning Setting. Very close to major attractions and tourist stops, however a brief turn along a scenic road will take you to a place of natural beauty ,a peaceful valley where the KayBar S lodge sits nestled amongst the tall pines."

"Never even checked in. No one around or returned my phone call. Don’t ever stay here! Awful place "

"The staff was excellent. The hotel was clean, our room was comfortable and we enjoyed our breakfast, nice variety. The only complaint is the shower leaked and ran all night. Other than that it's close to everything we wanted to see."
