Picked this place based on the price and great views. We were glad we only had one night here. It is greatly in need of renovation. The bathroom set up was strange and jets in tub didn’t work. You can tell the shower above jetted tub was an after thought. Room was clean but very outdated. The train does go by often but wasn’t really a bother when trying to sleep. A great location right across from pier.

You can't get much better for being directly across from San Clemente pier. There's a variety of restaurants directly below the hotel and all you have to do is walk across the street to get to the beach. The hotel will provide beach chairs and towels. Everything was wonderful!

First off, I want to say that the staff were very nice. The Casa Tropicana is fairly rundown, the tv didn’t work & that seem to be a problem in every room according to the other guests I spoke with. The flooring in the room we stayed in badly needed to be replaced. The bathroom faucet was very hard to turn on. The tile around the stairs was broken. The restaurant was closed and didn’t look like it was going to be reopened. The office was moved to a couple of buildings away and there was no sign telling you where to go to check in, I had to find 1 of the maintenance workers to tell me where to go. This is all too bad because we stayed there a few years before and then it was a nice place.

Great location, very dated and tired looking hotel

Rooms are motel 6 level, very dated, sad looking, bad wifi, no room cards, need keys, but staff is friendly and helpful and location is perfect. A little money toward upgrades would go a long way here. We would not stay here again.

Location is key

Location, location. The hotel is quite run down, the bathroom has seen better days and the towels are extremely thin. The plus is that you are in the heart of San Clemente and the loaned beach visits are a plus! The air conditioning works well and the bed is comfortable
