I was in San Mateo for 2 days on a work trip. The room is everything I needed to be. The staff was helpful.
This is just a two star hotel. No amenities, just free parking. Close to the freeway which can be noisy as well as the AC which is old and loud. And you’ll see junk at your window from the next door building.
While the facility was clean, staff was very helpful, I was provided a room with parking directly in front, and all amenities were generally functional and operable, my room had a very loud humming noise that I believe originated from the mini refrigerator. I attempted to turn it off but the knob inside was busted off. And I tried to unplug it but there were several cords all connected behind a large cabinet where I could not isolate the refrigerator. Bottom line, I didn't get much sleep despite the fact that the room location was fairly insulated from outside noise.

This place is old . I stayed here because it was the only place available due to Stanford graduation. Parking is tight , there is no breakfast, and the bed was visibly dented and lumpy lol . Everything did work and it was actually pretty quiet. There is nothing close in walking distance so you must drive for food etc. My view of a dirt lot with razor wire pretty much topped it off 😀
I've stayed in worse but they didn't cost 180$ .
It would be way down my list to stay for business again.
Was great for a overnight with all the other hotels in the area at 600-1000 a night because of some convention. New it was a budget hotel but reviews say was ok. So gave it 5 star because it’s good for what it is in the price range … I new I did not book the four seasons so my expectations were met.
The bathroom was small. Otherwise great value for the location. Free parking and quiet rooms. You can walk to the Bay Trail for fresh air in the evening.
Very easy access and great value for price if seeking sleeping amenities only. However, 8 minutes from down town San Mateo, where abundance of options for food options.
