First off customer service was excellent. The rooms were very acceptable with cable and all my sports channels. Having a shared restroom was not bad at all nothing like I thought. The staff was all five stars

The low cost was paramount plus the location close to the Moscone Center. It was under extensive remodeling so it will be much better when all the work is done then when I was there.

Mouldy bed with included stains, tv from the 90's, whole place was like a building site which wasn't previously stated, tampons on the floor in the showers, toilet paper with poo on it in the bin by the toilets. Need I say more?

la atención es pésima, en cuatro noches de estancia no te limpian la habitación, los baños y escusados son comunes lo cual resulta sumamente incomodo. ruidoso a los interno, los movimientos en el piso superior te afectan en tu habitación. ciertamente se paga poco pero la atención y condiciones son invisibles. el entorno exterior no dista mucho de las condiciones dela zona céntrica de la ciudad. esta en face de reparación en varias áreas. This is not hotel, is warehouse.Outside are homeless,In side no bedroom. The roof of the house seems to have a fire escape ,this is very dangerous & terrible

You get what you pay for
While Carlos is very nice, this place was pretty gross. It is under construction. I hope they make it better but for now it was gross enough that it impacted my enjoyment of the stay. This isn't set up like a hostel. It's an old, very old hotel. I won't stay here again.

Stupendous Value
The room was excellently clean, and the bed was comfortable. Room was well-appointed, with a nice closet, a little fridge and microwave, and a very nice dresser. Mirror over the sink was so low I couldn't see the top of my head, and I am not tall-- but I really didn't know what to do about it. There was no light over the mirror, either, which was disappointing because it made it impossible to manage putting makeup on. The building was safe, and it was easy to get everywhere I needed to go. And the street was QUIET at night. I was amazed. I usually stay on 4th street near the Moscone when I come to San Francisco which is absurdly noisy with honking and industrial noise. This location was blissfully quiet at night. Things you need to bring with you: waterproof slippers, little fan, box of kleenex, blowdryer, hangers. This place is undergoing fabulously extensive renovations. The hallways are quite grungy, but this is a hostel-- it's not like they have a full-time housekeeping staff. The owner/manager is a wonderful fellow. Would 10/10 stay here again.

For the price it was more than adequate. The room was clean enough and more than comfortable. Carlos was very accommodating and helpful. Will be staying here again.

Good time
It was good for the price. Very safe building since it is covered with cameras. The owner of the place is an ex-cop. Dish tv. Comfy bed for my husband and I. Not to long of a walk to bart. Mini mart across the street. No smoking in the building whatso ever.

staff was accomodating and professional however the maid never cleaned thoroughly (.just changed linens and took out trash - but cookies wrappers were left behind along with pungent airfreshener tucked behind tv ..i had to dust the ceiling of hanging cobwebs and dust bunnies-and wipe down the room and walls and appliances covered in dust myself

This place is not the Ritz and you shouldn't expect it to be. The facilities are basic - shared bathroom but w. wifi and your own bed. BEWARE: YOU WILL GET BITTEN BY BEDBUGS HERE!!! Central location, but the neighborhood is generally dirty, rife with drug users, homeless people living in tents, and human waste (seriously disgusting). Though not ideal by any standard, it did not feel unsafe. All told, you get what you pay for in a city like SF with few budget accommodations.

The place is old and it smelled from the time they open the door ... Room is nothing like the pics and it's dark dingy damp and just overall creepy . Though the manager was nice the place itself is not worth spending the night or money

Very outaded hotel, in worst san francisco area, very rough area. Hostel is very old, bad smell. Double private room had sink ( hot water you need to wait 30min for it) toilet and showers tiny snd very old, not the cleanest, would not recomend anyone to stay

I was a little taken aback, at first, by conditions; (room looked as if previous guest had just left - bed not made, garbage can full). Carpets dirty. No air conditioning, or fan. But all worked out ok, as I only slept there. Very cheap for San Francisco. Hopefully renovations will be complete sooner, rather than later; that will make a huge improvement.
