The room was excellently clean, and the bed was comfortable. Room was well-appointed, with a nice closet, a little fridge and microwave, and a very nice dresser. Mirror over the sink was so low I couldn't see the top of my head, and I am not tall-- but I really didn't know what to do about it. There was no light over the mirror, either, which was disappointing because it made it impossible to manage putting makeup on.
The building was safe, and it was easy to get everywhere I needed to go. And the street was QUIET at night. I was amazed. I usually stay on 4th street near the Moscone when I come to San Francisco which is absurdly noisy with honking and industrial noise. This location was blissfully quiet at night.
Things you need to bring with you: waterproof slippers, little fan, box of kleenex, blowdryer, hangers.
This place is undergoing fabulously extensive renovations. The hallways are quite grungy, but this is a hostel-- it's not like they have a full-time housekeeping staff.
The owner/manager is a wonderful fellow. Would 10/10 stay here again.
