"We loved our stay at Lagarta Lodge! Yes, the road uphill i dusty and bumpy. But well worth it. One of the best eco-lodges we have ever stayed at. ...The scenic location overlooking the confluence of Rio Nosara and the ocean fosters an impressive array of birds, monkeys, coati and other wildlife. ... Just as impressive is the cleanliness of the entire grounds, featuring 3 lovely pools, a jacuzzi, a yoga/health spa and a fine restaurant ... The staff is awesome! Helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. They arrange shuttle service to local beach towns as well. During our week there, some became our friends! ... One caution - we felt the bedding could be improved -- firmer mattress, softer pillows. Otherwise, everything was Pura Vida!"

"This property was everything we could ask for. Upon arrival, Brian, the front desk manager gave us a wonderful briefing explaining everything well and the property has a nice beach an easy walk in one direction where the sunset view is incredible. Head out the other direction just a short drive (or a long walk) and you have Carillo, an incredible beach that is lined with palm trees and so wide and expansive it almost seems private. The hotel room was great and the breakfast was perfect, served around the pool area each morning. A very relaxing, accomodating place, I will definitely stay at again when visiting that area "

From the correspondance before our arrival to book add-on activities, to the arrival experience, to the daily check-ins and check-out, we experienced the best customer service. Nicole was fantastic in ensuring everything was good with our stay. The rocky beach was fun for the kids to experience the tidal pools. And a short golf cart trip away took us to town and the sandy beaches of Tamarindo. We had a lovely time here. "

"Our room was immaculate and absolutely lovely! Our single bungalow had a hammock as well. Beautiful setting close to many wonderful restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning which was included. Spent 11 days at Hotel Acro Iris and highly recommend it. Christian is a conscientious waiter who does an excellent job. Carlos one of the concierges went way overboard to help us and ensure our stay was perfect. He is a wonderful and extremely polite young man!! "

"this hotel was very cute, and staff was very friendly. The only con was the distance from the airport, but that was expected. "

"Almost everything went poorly. They lost our reservation, took almost an hour to straighten it out. Let us get dinner and said to come back afterwards. We did and a different person asked what room we were in. Said we didn’t know yet- hoped he knew. He gave me one key and told me the villa number. By then it was after 9 pm and we had to stumble around in the dark trying to find our villa on the grounds. All the pathway lights were not working, very scary and dangerous. Couldn’t see a thing. Finally found out place and it was not as they advertise on line. We booked a Jr suite villa with a king bed. We got the most worn out villa on the property. No bright inviting colors, and no king size bed. The bedroom had two queen beds and pretty much no other furniture. There was no bedside table for phones, and the light switch was across the room. The bathroom was actually worse. The shower head was not attached to the hose. There was black mold on the shower walls, ant there were dead and live ants crawling all over the floor of the shower. The bathroom floor was grubby. We we&end exhausted so we went too bed. Spoke to reception in the morning. Came back 5 hours later and nothing changed. Went to reception again and they sent us to speak to the service manager. Took a half hour to track him down. Walked to his desk and then he (Larry) disappeared for another 20 minutes. So rude. When he got back I explained, put it in writing and three days later no fixes. "
