"From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by Francesca. The apartment was spotless and tastefully furnished, with everything we needed. The outside area was beautiful with amazing views. I have never been anywhere so peaceful and relaxing with such great hospitality. "This was a very good hotel with a lovely swimming pool and the added bonus of a jacuzzi. Cleanliness was excellent with rooms being serviced daily to a high standard. Breakfast was good and all staff friendly and welcoming. The complimentary shuttle bus to the port was a nice extra."

"The property is very cute and the breakfast is great each morning! However, there are many parts of the hotel that were under construction, either being built or fixed. The hottub was empty sitting by my room, so unable to use that. There were also no staff in the afternoons or evenings when I was there, so I could not enjoy the bar aspect of the outdoor dining area. Mari del Sud Resort

"This is our third time at Mari del Sud in the past six years, and unfortunately, we’ve noticed it’s slowly declining. It’s a pity, because the resort has such great potential, so close to the sea and the beautiful Sabbie Nere beach and head a beautiful swimming pool. One major downside is the lack of a transfer service from the harbor to the hotel. We had the service during previous stays, and most hotels and resorts on the island of Vulcano still offer it. Although the receptionist said the hotel is walkable, I wouldn’t recommend it if you're traveling with elderly people, as I was. We ended up having to call a taxi for both directions, which cost €15 each way. Breakfast is good and the staff do their best, but the number of waiters is insufficient for the volume of guests. The swimming pool opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 7 p.m., so if you're an early riser or looking to unwind after an excursion, it’s disappointing to find the pool closed. Housekeeping cleans the rooms daily, which is appreciated, though again the limited number of staff means your room might be serviced late in the day, often when you're back for a siesta. I really hope Mari del Sud will go back being the resort everybody used to love."

"I loved this property! Rooms were spacious and very clean. Beautiful pool area. The food at the pool bar was delicious and fresh! I wish we had eaten dinner at the hotel too. Breakfast was perfect with variety of choices. Staff were incredibly helpful and informative. I hope to return to Lipari and will stay here again for sure."

"It's hard to describe this hotel is like stepping into the 70s with so much charm. The restaurant was lovely for dinner watching the sunset. Breakfast was ok, a good choice of options. Walk to town was easy down driveway across volcanic rock beach and up a street on otherside, Then was quite flat to get around town centre. Water off the hotel is amazing, and pool warm and lovely. Rooms are definitely older style but space was good. We will be back, loved it with all of its quirks!"

"An amazing stay at this wonderful B & B. Manuella was a great host explaining the best places to visit on Salina. The breakfasts were very good and made from local produce, with Manuella giving a detailed explanation of the produce. Room was very clean and a brilliant view from the patio where we had breakfast. We would thoroughly reccommend this property."
