We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel on our roadtrip round the Highlands. The room was modern and comfortable - great bed and the shower was really good too (on the bijou side but lovely water pressure and hot). The room was a good size, accommodating us and 2 German shepherd dogs. The decor in the main hotel areas could do with modernising - very 1970s - but not unpleasant, with the exception of the snug where a really good overhaul is long overdue. The fact that the hotel could accommodate us with the dogs in the bar area to eat was fantastic and fortunately the dogs were well behaved so not an issue. The staff were great, really helpful and attentive although some of them were nervous around the hounds. Food was good, and the sweet trolley should be retained at all costs - modernisation or not! Thank you for a lovely stay. Would certainly recommend the property.

Excellent stay clean warm bedroom, lovely staff, cooked breakfast excellent but the set up of the cereals very basic didn’t like the massive cooking pans of cereal open to the elements individual boxes and yogurt pots would be more suitable we didn’t think about dinner as never saw example menu in room or at breakfast, it’s been a very pleasant stay though

I emailed the property three times as I wanted to know if I can move the date of our stay as I had an emergency surgery a couple of weeks before our stay. No one returned my email and I called the hotel twice and there was no answer. I understand I booked a non refundable stay but I was in the hospital and the Doctor will not let me travel. I thought the hotel management will take that Into consideration but they just did not care

I'm disappointed to read your review. As it was myself who responded on three occasions to get your dates changed through Expedia. The first time being January the 30th 9:07am, the second time being February 2 6:17pm and the third being February 5 9.29pm. On my last messaged I explained we would issue a 250 voucher for a future booking as we were unable to refund your original booking as it was a pre pay non refundable. We had done this as gesture of goodwill due to your circumstances. As normally no refund would be possible with this type of booking.

I gave it one star for location and another for price and that's about it. It's very shabby and run down, looks like it hasn't been done up since the 70's. Room was basic. Breakfast wasn't great, the "buffet" was just a load of old soup pots filled with cereal. Weirdest set up I've seen. Staff on reception weren't particularly friendly, didn't even get a thanks when I checked out. Looks like the whole place just caters for bus tours and contractors and wasn't very welcoming. Great location and price but that's all that's going for it.

At first sight, the hotel looks old and a bit shabby, but don't let that put you off.The rooms appear to have been refurbished recently to a good standard, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

This was booked at a very good price so wasn't expecting too much however, we were given a lovely clean room with a modern shower room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food good too. Had a lovely stay and would go back again.

In a nice area. Older hotel. Bath was upgraded, bed needed upgrading. Fortunately it was fairly quiet as you could hear neighboring rooms some. We had breakfast which was poor and expensive and we were not informed when we went in that it was not included. Also hard to find. Need better signage.

Short family stay
Had a family room which was spacious for the four of us with a good sized bathroom. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Will definitely be back.

Pleasant, Peaceful and beautiful.
The staff was friendly. Somrtimes the owner is there too to have a supervision, which is good. Good tourist guidance, a pleasant stay for total three nights with the family. The stay is in our good memories which is what the tourists want. Only thing is the breakfast time window should be for 3 hours. But rest it was very good.

Great hotel in Newtonmore
Great hotel in Newtonmore. Lovely friendly welcome at Reception, spotlessly clean, quiet room and fantastic breakfast. We stayed as a pre night for an organised tour and are staying a further 4 nights as part of that tour. Very happy.
