"Excellent onsen hotel right at the end of the first day of the Kohechi Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail. I came for the onsen and mountain seclusion, but they had such good maps of the Kohechi at the front desk that I decided to walk back to Koyasan the day I checked out. It’s about 20km through the mountains from Nosegawa Onsen to Koyasan, walking on a mix of well-kept trails and paved roads; overall, a moderately difficult hike with very good signage. I highly recommend Kohechi hikers to stay at this hotel."

"We were halfway through our two week trip when we stayed. We were exhausted and even missed a couple of meals catching up on sleep. I could not have been in a better place to recover. The staff were great and the food is wonderful. The view is one of a kind. "

"I had a really nice stay at the Fairfield. The staff there was very very helpful. The room was spacious, well maintained and had a small hot pot to geat water for coffee, tea or miso soup. You do not need soap or shampoo hecause it provided in the shower. There are a couple of restaurants nearby but they close around 8pm plan to go to the market which is a little over a mile away. Theres a local bus that runs almost every hour for 200¥ one way. L "

"We had a very good night Sansuikan Kawayu Matsuya. They share hot springs and the restaurant with a nearby hotel. Hot springs are the absolute standout: fantastic! Food is good and plentiful. Our room had a brilliant view. All the rest is okay, although the exterior of the building is not nice."

"the place is an island on it's own and looks like a James Bond villain base from the outside. Inside it's got so many baths and just cool areas to explore. The room itself is comfortable and there's even a little convenience store near the front desk so you can get room snacks easily. I picked up some of the pickled plum udon noodles to cook at home and they were delicious! Meals are a little crowded as they're buffet style but the food itself is amazing and so many different things to try. I recommend coming here at least once and staying two nights if you can."
