Spotless accommodation.
The added touch of a Xmas tree was very much appreciated.
Very simple check in procedure.
Beautiful views down the valley
Our two night stay in Lodge 1 was perfect and relaxing. Easy checkin process and the lodge was clean and welcoming. The lodge is just 10 minutes away from Skipton centre and 20 minutes away from Bolton Abbey, which we had a lovely walk around. Sitting in the hot tub with the starry sky and the hilly views topped the stay off. One of the top lodges I’ve ever stayed in.

Plenty of hot water , shame shower wasnt up to much (not a power shower by any stretch) we found double bed and settee not comfortable.
Nice spot , but it is a very steep drive down to cottage , we walked to Skipton via the top road which wasnt really walker friendly , on our return weather took a turn for the worse so an uber was booked which was a good call as we thought a wet back road would definitely hazardous. Not sure we would return at over £200 per night .
LLovey stay!
We were really looking forward to this stay. Arrived thinking we’d go out each day to explore the neighbouring villages however decided to have a lazy day and makecthe most of the lodge.
We have 2 children (10 and 2) and they loved it. They were safe at all times and loved the surrounding area with sheep, goats, and bunnies running around. The view from th balcony was beautiful with a train going past every 15-20 mins which we enjoyed watching. It was far enough the noise wasnt an issue.
Lots of villages a short drive nearby. We enjoyed the market at Skipton.
After a week travelling around the UK taking in busy days out with the kids this relaxing few days chilling in the hot tub and enjoying ultimate peace and quiet was much needed.
Nice and clean with pretty much all of the stuff we’d possibly need provided for our stay.
We’ll definitely be looking to book again!

Good location but could do with a few improvements
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Throstle Nest, primarily due to it's location and proximity to the various places we visited around the wider area. We came with a 4 year old so not needing to be in the car for long periods to get to places was a big plus.
Our daughter also particularly liked that there were sheep and rabbits around the accommodation, the trains passing regularly, as well as the hot tub.
Not necessarily a negative, but a point to note, it's generally somewhere that you have to drive from if you have young children as from the accommodation there are no immediate paths, and you would have to walk up relatively steep hills to get back (I went out on a few runs so for me, the hills were a good thing).
The accommodation itself, although fine, was more worn/used than you can tell in the pictures and there were lots of small things that needed maintenance. These weren't deal breakers at all, but the accumulation of these small things made it feel lower quality. Again, it wasn't bad, but a little longer could have been spent on cleaning too.
This is massively a personal preference, but we found all of the beds incredibly soft, so didn't find we had a good sleep (obviously, if you like soft beds, this isn't an issue for you). Parts of the sofa were the same too.
I don't want the 3 stars to come across as negative - the descriptor says average and we feel that's what it was. There were some good elements and some elements that we felt could be improved upon.
