This property was a surprise! While it is outdated and the furniture could use an update, the beds were comfortable... and the VIEW! Every room faces the Rideau Canal. The main entrance also faces the canal and the hotel is flanked by walking trails and green space. You can feel this place is steeped in history. It is an unique and interesting property for sure. One of a kind.

There was no hot water, no water pressure on the 5th floor. The bathroom was dirty, the heat didn't work properly. There was bird poop all.over the balcony and windows. The breakfast was not good at all, stale muffins and pastries, the cream for coffee was expired and 1 carton of milk was also expired. The vending machine for pop was priced wrong and took my money and the staff was no help at all with that. The beds were very comfortable.

Budget wise, it is a great place with full amenities (microwave, coffee maker, small fridge, etc.). Very comfy bed and spacious room. Standard free continental breakfast. What I liked the most is that the dining area is open 24/7 in case you need coffee, tea, juice, etc. Not that clean, but not dirty as well. View of smiths falls from the balcony in the morning was my best time of the day. Also it was very quiet (I was there in February and was told from January to March it is always that way), have no idea how will it be during the rest of the year. Receptionists are very helpful. Overall, I would recommend highly this place and probably will visit again.

Smell of Marijuana and freezing cold in hallway, had to buy febreze to be able to get to our rooms. No water for a lot of the night. Breakfast was less than ideal, I understand its off season but stale bread and muffins, cream that one was frozen and one was spoiled.

It was great for the price. More than I expected. The bed was comfy and the breakfast included was good for the price as well. The lady at the front was quite nice.

Excellent classic hotel charm. Can’t beat the views of Rideau canal etc. It’s just a little broken up in parking lot. Old property. Not unsafe. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location! A little dated but clean and comfortable...Very reasonable rates. The only negative would be the condition of the balcony, as the pigeons like the area, too!!

Cet hotel a besoin de renovations majeures...le prix est bas, c'est le seul avantage. Chambre pas tres propre; les tapis ne sentent pas bon dans les couloir comme dans la chambre (319). Le dejeuner est tres sommaire, pas de fruits ou oeufs...dommage, ca pourrait etre un bel hotel, la vue sur le canal est surprenante
