"Room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great! Just a few steps to the beach, and our room had a patio right on the beach. One surprise to us - no AC in the room. But we opened the door to the patio in the evening (the patio is walled, so not open to the public) and the breeze cooled the room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!"

"The room had recently been renovated. The bathroom had not. The fan in the room was very noisy and there was little to stop someone from walking up to a room. No keypads on the doors, breakfast was as basic as it comes, front desk was often empty, and there is no hotel parking, it is city parking and you take your luck with a lot or on the street."

"While the hotel and rooms are exceptional and beautiful, the walls were not proof against the roaring morning traffic on Channel Islands Blvd in the morning. Sleeping in was not a real option, earplugs notwithstanding. Otherwise, the stay was par excellence! And free parking was greatly appreciated."

"The landscaping was spectacular, and the passage to and on the beach were equally impressive. We love the Gulf Stream for coffee and simple breakfast. The pool was easily accessible and was well maintained. The rooms were very spacious, (maybe the decor was slightly dated). Would definitely stay here again; really enjoyed our three day vacation."
