It was evident from the certificates and photos around the place that it had been a hotel & restaurant of note with award winning credentials. It isn’t a shiny glitzy hotel but equally the decor was quite tired and patched up in places. “Enjoyed our stay in a garden room. Although the gardens aren’t totally finished it’s nice to see the progress being made and on a sunny day it’s nice to have direct access. Fantastic meal in the kitchen restaurant. We had dined in prevost on previous occasions but the standard of dishes in the other restaurant was great. Friendly reception when we arrived. Breakfast is fantastic. If you are looking for a night or two to relax in a pretty and period setting then this hotel is recommended.”
