This hotel is suitably close to centre of Southampton. If you travel by car then it is very easy to access. The place is quiet and good dining options available at the hotel.

The staff were helpful and welcoming. They reminded guests at check in to register the vehicle registration for the free parking. It was something I found unclear from Expedia and other reviews. I was so relieved to congregate free parking when I arrived, especially as there were signs in the car parking listing the rates. Tasty food, complimentary fruit and warm cookies from the reception staff. Comfortable beds. Happy customers.

Check in and checking out went very smoothly. Kind and courteous staff. Very informative with questions asked. Restaurant on site offered a variety of delicious choices. Great restaurant service. The hotel setting was very charming and peaceful. Family was able to get a quality sleep after an exhausting day of travel.

Having paid a premium rate it was outrageous to have to pay an additional fee to checkin an hour early for a room that was already available. The bathroom was so small the door was impossible to shut unless you stood in the shower. It is also very disappointing to have less than mediocre sandwiches for lunch in the bar as the restaurant was not open. How this hotel gets a Double Tree moniker I have no idea. We will never return to this hotel, or use the brand again.
