"Pros: Polite, cordial staff. The standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast is always a winner. Good bed & pillows. Spacious room. Decent shower. A/c worked great. Cleanliness is good overall.
No thanks: strangely, coffee makers are no longer standard in rooms. Also, bring your own mugs/drinking glasses: these are curiously no longer standard in rooms.
Maybe letting guests know at check-in would be a good idea? Anyhow, remember to ask for a coffee maker at the desk, and pick up disposable cups. (Or, be like your dog and happily lap water from the faucet.) In a country that runs on caffeine, this change has a hilariously Motel 6 vibe: somebody at HQ realized they could save a buck per day with this policy. You know, they could REALLY save by eliminating soap, bedding, TV, & mirror. I gotta say though that the lack of a coffee maker got me out of the room earlier. Convenient for the housekeeping staff!
An opinion about the 2 coffee machines at the common area: they make better than average hotel coffee but during a busy breakfast rush they present a bottleneck. Carafes would be a good idea."
