“Room was clean but very cold couldn’t get the underfloor heating to work Breakfast was disappointing plate was oily eggs were overcooked beans were cold as if the were straight out of the tin as was the mushroom and tomato sausages ,bacon ,black pudding and hash brown were lukewarm and didn’t come with toast or fried bread”

“Every time I travel back north I stay at this place as it's friendly, has what you need and more-aka the restaurant next door and nearby to bigger shops too”

“Had a great stay here, spacious bedroom overlooking the countryside in a quiet location. Enjoyed the food and great atmosphere in the pub.”

“This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August.”
