"Booked a 4 night stay at University Inn. Check in was smooth and the lady at the desk was polite. Got to the room and wasn't overly impressed but thought it would be fine, that is until I had a closer look. Went into the bathroom and there was an almost fully used roll of toilet paper instead of a new roll, not a big deal. Closed the bathroom door and there was a fist sized hole on the inside of the door, a little concerning but not major since the hole didn't go completely through the door. Walking in the floor no matter how lightly you tried to walk just sounded like you were stomping across the floor, a little annoying when you're trying to sleep. The deal breaker was when I saw multiple roaches on the floor and wall. The next morning I went to the front desk and checked out. The same lady asked if if there was anything she could do to which I replied she could refund the next 3 days that I was supposed to stay. When she asked why and I told her she refunded the other days without even questioning what I had told her. Apparently the issue did not come as a surprise to her which basically means they know the issues but don't do anything to address them. Also the pool they claimed to have was closed. Terrible experience and I would recommend staying anywhere but here."

"The room was clean but had a musty smell. The light switch by the door did not work on any lights. Someone tore the fire alarm off the wall and it was never replaced. The floor in the bathroom had a big dent. It had a good location near my sons apartment."

"My favorite place to stay in Gainesville when visiting my daughter! All the staff are wonderful, nice and helpful. Location is perfect and the beds are so comfy"

"Didn’t use any amenities. Breakfast was ok at best. They didn’t make our bed or provide fresh towels. Went to front desk to discuss. Was told that we should have been told at check in that unless we asked they don’t enter room during our stay. We didn’t tell us. She did give me fresh towels. It was graduation weekend and we paid over $400 per night for two nights. They should have made our bed! Place needs a refresh! "
