“The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.”

“The only reason I am not excellent all the way is because it wasn’t quite as “ antique-ee as I thought otherwise it was clean comfy and everyone was amazingly sweet! A good stay and the breakfast - perfect! ”

“The property is lovely but as you would expect with a historic home it was missing some modern conveniences. There weren’t enough plug ins for all your electronic devices to charge by the bed. There is some signs of foundation issues and the room we stayed in was pretty small with the bathroom being a bit bigger than two phone booths. Overall it was charming but I was glad we only were staying one night.”

“The stay was awesome, and was just what I needed. The only thing that threw me off was someone inserting a pizza place menu through my door despite having the Do Not Disturb hanger on the door.. sounded like someone was trying to break in or something. ”

“I had asked for a room higher up fir the view. They put me on the 2nd floor with the pool right outside my patio and the parking lot and pool pumps on the other side. Loud was an understatement. The young lady that checked me in said I see you requested top floors but we put you on the 2nd floor. One call to the desk from that room and we were switched to the 9th floor. We had no kids with us and booked months in advance. Just not sure why we were put on the 2nd floor to begin with. We...
