"Pros: Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Short walking distance to Mickleover centre with a wide range of restaurants, pubs/bars.Good breakfast selection. Cons: Hotel appears outdated, especially the rooms. The first room I was given (308) had a sliding door to the balcony with a gap letting cold air through and offered no sound proofing to the busy A516. This room was happily exchanged for another (307) but again the balcony door offered no sound proofing or heat retention despite closing properly. Poor mattress as you could feel the springs. Review would have been 2* if it wasn't for the friendly staff."

"Staff was on their phone when i arrived and didn’t turn it off when I got there, no hello from any of the other staff. But a very fair price, the bed was comfy and had anything you needed. I did cut my foot on a broken tile which was disappointing. Not may shops near by but an aldi is close plus a great little pub opposite."

"Clean room with comfortable bed. The bar and restaurant were cosy and access to walk along the side of the river is great."

"Our room was ready for check-in rm 122. The shut window let alot of noise in from busy road. Pillows arent the comfiest. The breakfast was good, nice selection, hot english breakfast and tasty crispy bacon. My night was disturbed at 1.30am-2.30am by noisy guests slamming door and arguing loudly so it disturbed my sleep and didnt then feel safe. The car park is £5 surcharge which should just be added to the hotel booking cost as where else does one park! Location is good, near to spa and decent restaurants."

"Stayed for one night as was attending a meeting with a late finish. Check-in was simple and professional. The room was clean and well-maintained. The bathroom had a walk-in shower with lovely toiletries supplied. More than enough coat hangers and wardrobe space for my needs. But it’s the staff that I really wanted to talk about…. As I said, I was attending a meeting at the hotel which didn’t finish until well after 9pm. I hadn’t been able to have anything to eat for prior to the meeting, so walked to the hotel’s restaurant, hoping that I wasn’t too late, as I’d read that food was only served until 9pm. There were two gentleman standing at the entrance who I approached to ask if there was any chance I could get something to eat. They were so happy to help, immediately finding me a table and assuring me that I could order something. The waiter who took my order was really helpful and friendly, checking on me after my food had been brought to my table. Rather than me having to go to the bar to pay, the waiter brought the payment device to my table. As a woman staying on my own in the hotel, it could have been quite daunting being alone, but the staff were attentive, but not to the point as being annoying, just sufficient that it made me feel like they cared about my stay. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! "

"We were told shortly before arriving that there is no bar or restaurant and no breakfast. I'm not sure if the property is still under the OYO brand? The welcome we had was very good but the bathroom had lots of cobwebs and was not very clean"
