"My ETA was well past the last check in, but a member of staff was kind enough to stay behind. The dorm had 4 bunkbeds, an AC unit and a fan. The AC and fan worked well. Each guest was given a towel and a locker big enough to hold a large backpack. The bed had an Asian style firm mattress and a thin sheet, a private light, 2 sockets and a small shelf. Common areas include a kitchen area, dining/working area with breakfast tables and high chairs, and another lounge area by the reception. There's no AC in the common areas, although the areas were open with nettings to restrict insects, so at least there was air circulating. I never got bitten while in the common area. There are several toilet/bathrooms. These were always clean whenever I used them. The water pressure is okay, good enough and works. There's not much ventilation in the shower rooms though. There is Wifi throughout the property and it works well. Location wise, the hostel is roughly between the airport and town. it's about 15 minutes walk to the port and 20 to the centre of Dumaguete. There is a convenience store close by and several restaurants too. At night, the area is quiet, but you can hear the traffic in the morning. The hostel employ staff who are hard of hearing, so kudos for that. The communication can be slower, but please be kind and patient. The staff work hard cleaning several times a day. Overall, I had an excellent stay. The hostel and facilities are basic, but clean and comfortable."

"Rovira Suites is the best place to stay in Dumaguete. No competitor has really put together the same level of products and services. From tooth brushes you'd actually not mind taking home, to soft pillows that don't leave you with a sore neck, they've got it all down correctly. A suggestion I would offer to the management is being a bit more prompt on cleaning up what the customers leave behind would help greatly to maintain the brand."

"Staff was amazing. Jean was the first person that welcomed me. She spoke English fluently and provided excellent customer service. Thank you to Jean, Wilson, Joey, James, Ivan, Bella and Jerry. Visiting from Monterey, California alone made my visit extremely pleasant. Each employee had integrity. I observed that all of them took pride in their job and a strong team environment. Everyone was so accommodating, helpful, professional and most of all kind. The room was cozy, quiet, very clean, inviting and spacious. I requested a room with a window and they were able to provide one immediately. There was plenty of warm water for showering twice a day. Location is walking distance to City Mall approximately 12 min and about 4k from downtown. Wilson, the cook provided a delicious breakfast during my 3 night stay. He asked me the day before what time I would like breakfast served. He was timely and always served with a smile; a very pleasant young man. The hotel has a very nice cafe offering many different coffee drinks. It's a nice place to relax and have a cup of coffee. My only suggestion when relying on public transportation such as a scooter, ask what the cost is prior to getting on. A scooter driver charged me 100 pesos for a 5.5k mile ride. According to the locals, he should have only charged 60 pesos. Other than this, my overall stay at the hotel was fabulous. It was a blessing to stay at this hotel."
