Lovely old property -well maintained. Plenty of parking. Views of the Cader range beautiful.
Food both in the evening and breakfast was delicious. Very fresh and nicely presented. Good choice of food.
Our host was lovely-very friendly and chatty. We really enjoyed our stay and would go again.
A lovely place to stay. The gentleman who runs this guest house is very friendly and welcoming. The guesthouse is a beautiful old building with buckets of character and original features.
The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and great view. The food was a real highlight. We had an evening meal and then breakfast in the morning and everything was delicious. Lots of choice and everything was really great quality. It was such a treat to see fresh fruit on the breakfast table after staying somewhere the previous few nights where the food was not so good!
If you're in the area, exploring or hiking this is absolutely a brilliant place to stay!
Warm, friendly welcome by the owner.
As it turned out, we were the only visitors staying in the hotel, so had a nice opportunity for a chat over a beer - well stocked with what appeared to be the full range of bottled beers from Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog.
Food was fantastic - both of us had the lamb which was stunning. Lots of it & full of flavour. The accompanying vegetables were equally full of taste. We can confirm that the website comment regarding food: "Our chef Darren cooks & prepares excellent freshly prepared food using local welsh suppliers & products. Darren’s style of cooking is unpretentious, uncomplicated yet well presented & cooked plates with generous portions of homemade food." is absolutely spot on!
Equally, breackfast the next morning, though there were only the two of us staying had a full choice of cereals & fruit laid out - all prepared fresh - and again, the "Full Welsh" breakfast set us up for the day's activities.
Decent-sized room with equally roomy en-suite completed the accommodation.
As there was only the two of us, we stayed in the visitors' lounge rather than going into the Residents' One.
I had a lovely few days here, the hotel is in the most stunning location. The room was spotlessly clean, and had all I needed. The owner of the hotel was lovely and very friendly and accommodating e.g. to an early checkout. I ate there one evening and the food was excellent. Breakfast is also very good!
Ideally situated for walkers. The hotel is 1 min walk from the enterance to the National Park. The room was immaculate. Plenty of hot water and the shower pressure was very good. Some jets flew over its car park during our stay as it is on the Mach Loop. That was an unexpected treat. The owner is very attentive and both evening meal and packed lunch was really nice.
Had a fantastic time at the hotel. Gordon was a excellent host and really made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend.

Mach Loop
Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Das Hotel ist sehr liebenswürdig. Sehr viele nette Details. Wunderbarer Aufenthalt. Ideale Lage für Flugzeugbeobachtung am Mach Loop.
We arrived quite late but was met by staff and shown to a very pleasant ground floor room. The road is right by the window only a hedge hides it from view luckily the road was fairly quiet but if busier this could be a problem. The view of the mountains opposite was very special though. No phone signal for us ...internet is a bit hit and miss in the room but just about workable....no tv which for some could be a down point but was ok by us. Breakfast timings were a bit harsh 0730 - 0830 but it was good .....we both had the full English ! Hotel was clean and we felt safe under the current conditions. Generally quiet due to restrictions hope it picks up for all concerned. We didn’t get chance to use the bar or restaurant in the evening due to our late arrival but the bar looked cosy.
Overall a good stay and will visit again as this hotel is spoilt by its fantastic location .....ideal for plane spotters as it’s right in the heart of the Mach Loop! Prices are a little high but understandable that some costs have to be recovered so not a gripe ......and understandable as only limited rooms can be used due to restrictions.
Very friendly owner and a comfortable bed. Great location.

Fantastic location.
Since we were the only visitors a room with a better view would have been nice.
In contrast with times on website, we were pressurised into earlier meal times which was a pity!
it was a quiet night for the hotel and so I got very personalised service, which was great.
With a limited menu on offer that evening I enjoyed a good burger, made to the hotel's own recipe by a local butcher. It was pretty good.
Breakfast was as good as I could have hoped for. Fresh fruit, cereals and yoghurt, and a freshly cooked breakfast with local sausage, bacon, black pudding and eggs. Delicious.
All for a very good price. I'd go back
Stayed a coue of nights to climb cadair idris which is right outside the front door. Good food, room was clean and more importantly, warm. Would visit again.

For a hotel that boats to be "much more than a Snowdonia Hotel" I was extremely upset to be told that I could not get back into the hotel after 12.00 even if I checked in before the 11.00pm cut off. I was told that they do not give keys to guests as they are not a hotel but a guest house!!!! So be warned if you don't want an early night don't stay here.
