Good choice for stay in Urumuqi
Clean and comfortable room, heat and hot water works well as I visit this hotel during winter, friendly hotel staff help us arrange one-day trip in Tianshan and the second day very early morning hotel pick-up to airport. Breakfast is great with Chinese and Western style cuisine. Hotel locates downtown Urumuqi with a big shopping mall just cross hotel parking lot. Overall I am satisfied with my 3-day staying at this hotel.

The only negative thing about this Hotel is that despite we were accommodated on the Non-smoking Floor, the corridor is often filled with cigarette smoke which also found their way into the room. Very annoying and unhealthy.

Great facilities, not so great location
Loved the room - great facilities, comfortable bed. A nuisance that you couldn’t just walk out of the hotel to take a pleasant stroll. Needed to take a taxi everywhere, and while they are very cheap, it makes it a bit more of an effort to go out. Hardly any English is spoken so Westerners need to make sure they get hotel staff to write down where you wish to go for the taxi driver.

Good Alternative to American Brands
The hotel is very modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was so good I also did the dinner buffet which was equally as good. Y126 for hotel guests. It is walking distance (longish) to the famous provincial museum, but it is closed Mondays, the day I was there. It was a very easy walk to Red Hill aka Red Mountain Park. Pleasant walk to the top and back. Get directions to the North Gate. My only annoyance was that it was very hard to find any staff that spoke any English. There were a few but hard, in most cases not terribly fluent. Owned by Korean Accor hotels. Location is very central, but the location on top of the commercial center was kind of strange. But all the commerce nearby was interesting.

I stayed in the hotel for 10 days. The was friendly and helpful. Only thing that is a not very inconvenient is that I have to walk to the street to find taxi.

Good but need improvement
Everything is great about the hotel except the tap water. The running water has impurities. They need to clean the water pipes. I thought it happens to the area, but I stayed at other hotel in Urumqi and the water was fine.

Good location. I’d stay elsewhere.
Don’t bother upgrading to a different room. The executive lounge is just a space- no amenities or attendant. I would not stay here again. I was able to find someone who spoke English easily.

Great hotel!
I enjoy this hotel. This is the only hotel where I stay when I travel to Urumqi. Rates are very good compared to the type of hotel it is. Very friendly staff despite the paranoid nature of authorities in Xinjiang towards foreigners. The staff does a very good job of making me feel comfortable.

チェックイン、チェックアウトの際のスタッフの対応がとても親切で、英語も問題なく通じるので、不自由がありませんでした。また、部屋もきれいに清掃されていました。 難を言うと、WIFIが不安定で、通じなくなることがしばしばありました。 また、コンセントがデスクの付近に集中しているので、もう少し他の場所にもあると便利だったと感じました。

快適なホテルでした。
タクシーで空港まで50元くらい。ウルムチの街中はセキュリティーチェックだらけであり、駅の待合室の中に入るのも１時間くらいかかる。ホテルは、禁煙の部屋となったこともあり、総じて快適であり、清掃も行き届いていた。ホテルのビュッフェもおいしかった。ホテルの方も親切であり、タクシーや小額の両替でお世話になった。ホテルの周りには食堂も多く、BRTで隣の駅の労働街にはカルフールがあって、日常品やお土産の購入、物価のチェックにも便利。夜は急に人も少なくなるので出歩くときは注意するにこしたことはないと思った。

Odd place
This is a strange hotel. It is built atop a "shopping centre", i.e., a five-storey bazaar (which offers, among other things, a great choice of bathroom fixtures!) and has no direct street access. You go down a long traffic ramp and then you end up on a crowded street with nothing in the way of restaurants or shopping. And despite the Grand Mercure label, this is still far from being an international hotel. Some of the staff speak English (almost none speak Uyghur), but turning in some laundry turned into a routine Monty Python could not have dreamed up. The lobby lounge does not exist, nor does the roof garden. And they don't believe in credit or credit cards. They swiped my card for 500 RMB when I checked in. When that ran out, they came and locked up the minibar (which I had no intention of using anyway) and refused to let me charge anything to my room. Cash only from then on. On the plus side, the breakfast was very good and the rooms are large and very pleasant.

Good hotel, good service. Guest relations manager Wang was very helpful. Amanda is wonderful with guests as always. Breakfast is a bit pricey at RMB 128 and except Mr Wang and Amanda, no one else really speaks English. Otherwise, a very good hotel.

部屋はまずまずといったところ。 ５つ星を掲げているわりにはサービスがイマイチ。朝食を食べる時間がなかった為お弁当にしてもらいましたが、中身は「これで５つ星？」という感想であった。　 ホテルの立地はイマイチで周辺には特に見るべきものはない。タクシー移動が前提となる。

城堡般的高級飯店~
這個飯店的位置是一個斜坡上，有點像是矗立在高台上的城堡，當時拖著行李的我有點傻眼，還好警衛告訴我旁邊商場有電梯到5樓，走出去就可看到大廳。下午2點多進住時，竟被告知房間尚在打掃要再等候半小時，不過隨後約15分鐘，櫃台一位男接待員就主動幫我upgrade到有前景的房間，算是服務變通上的加分，房間很寬敞舒適，設施不算新穎但應有盡有，每天都有打掃服務，有任何問題也可詢問櫃台得到適當的協助，飯店距離紅山公園約20分鐘步行距離，周圍也有許多商家、市集與餐飲店，公交車就在走下斜坡後30公尺處很方便，下次有機會會再選擇此飯店。

繁華街に有るホテル。朝食は良かった。

Хороший отель, расположен прямо посередине и вообщем-то является центром гигантского рынка. Огромное лобби, большие номера, очень чисто. Всё сделано в исламском стиле, люди на ресепшн хорошо говорили по англ., что редкость в Китае. Отличный тайский ресторан. В холле проходят шикарные китайские свадьбы. Чтобы вызвать такси, нужно обратиться на ресепшн, они пошлют кого-нибудь на улицу и он поймает вам такси.

Great place to stay in Urumqi
Excellent price, location, and service! Located near Urumqi Museum and HungShan Park both are very interesting places to visit. The crew is super nice and even packed us unexpected breakfast at 5:40AM on the day we checked out! We really appreciated it. We know the local time is 2 hours behind Beijing time. The hotel serve breakfast at 7AM usually. We have an early flight at 8AM but due to security takes time we have to leave the hotel at 6AM. We also stayed with a group in another 5 star hotel in Urumqi but we like Grand Mercure better.

Our Café Veranda is open 7-11 though many local people eat late, lunch starts at 1pm! They do not listen to their guests.
We booked three rooms for two nights. One of our rooms was mistakenly cancelled by the hotel. I have never used the Expedia site, and I booked through the Hotels. com site. But, the front desk insisted that I canceled one night through the Expedia site. I even showed the prints of all bookings, but the frost lady ignored it. My colleagues stayed in executive rooms but I was treated badly, because of the hotel's mistake.

Off To a Slow Start
Things got to a slow start as there were no details of my booking which took some considerable time to sort out. The upside to this was that I was upgraded from a standard room to a palatial room on the top floor. Also the general experience also improved. This is extremely well priced hotel with very good facilities.

Great! Want to stay again!
We arrived at the hotel around 12:00 noon, the porter helped with our luggage. We were given our room key/card immediately despite the check in time is 2:00 PM. We were amazed when we walked in the hallway seeing the lights went on one by one while we passed by other rooms. Beautiful doors! The room is very clean, large and elegant . It is equipped with not only bathrobe but also up to date technology supply--- better than many other five star hotels. It's located in a kind of noisy area, but we didn't hear any during our stay. Actually, I think its location is very convenient---restaurant and shopping mall are right in front of the hotel.

This hotel can sell your room to someone and told you we didn't find your booking. Said no more room. After talked to Hotel.com and peoples find your can speak English then they turn around. Do you scare ? Otherwise hotel room is elegant if you never mind there have lausy cigarette burned mark on toilet.

航空機が遅れても、安心して向かい入れてくれました。英語がOKなのが嬉しかったです。
大変良いホテルだと感心しております。２時（真夜中）にチェックインに成ってしまいましたが、スタッフの対応には感謝しております。中国のウルムチでのホテルで、英語が完璧に理解してくれるホテルは無いと思います。

空港にも近く清潔なホテルです。
中国しかも新疆でこの快適はビックリしました。フロントの方は英語も上手くテキパキと感じがよかったです。 朝食バイキングの味、品数もよく、巻きずしもありました。　タイ料理のレストランは味は良いのですが 出てくる順番が無茶苦茶でした！

Here to visit family and it was a very nice retreat at end of busy days to come back to quiet and great place to relax
