"Great hotel, laid back with plenty of food choices and better than usual deserts. Only complaint was it felt too busy around the pool areas (hotel was full in think) Worth the money though"
"Bed comfortable. Air conditioning excellent. Pool good size. Only flaw is room needs updating. Reception staff 5*. Close to buses and salou within walking distance"
"This was my first time going abroad and staying at this hotel was lovely it was clean and tidy and the views were beautiful only note to make is make sure you have a car as booking taxis yourself is difficult and the hotel is a bit out of the way but everything else was lovely"
PortAventura Hotel El Paso - Includes unlimited access to PortAventura Park & 1 day access to Ferrari Land
8/10 Good
"Great hotel located a few minutes walk to the Portaventura parks, and to Hotel Caribe.
Pool is large enough for everyone to swim (we went during May and again in June).
Breakfast options are vast, we missed our allocated slot but the restaurant staff are friendly and happy to accommodate guest's anyway (they even opened the restaurant earlier as our flight time was 9am).
Reception staff are friendly and accommodating, but the queues at reception can get long at busy times in te year.
Overall a great hotel, close to the action, a short taxi distsnce to the beach and Salou's restaurants."
"Really lovely 3 night stay at this apart hotel.
Pool was great, always got a sunbed. It’s part residential. You can’t access the pool until 10am so no one sneaking down at 7am to bag a sunbed!
Reception really helpful. It’s basic but clean and friendly. In a great quiet spot just 10 mins from the beach and one street away from restaurants, bars and shops."
PortAventura Hotel Gold River - Includes unlimited access to PortAventura Park & 1 day access to Ferrari Land
8/10 Good
"We had a fantastic 3-night stay at PortAventura Hotel Gold River as a family of four, with our two children aged 10 and 12.
The hotel was excellent and the Wild West theme made the whole experience feel like part of the adventure. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious enough for all four of us, and the location within the resort was brilliant.
The biggest bonus was the unlimited access to PortAventura Park, which made it so easy to come and go without having to worry about tickets. Having a full day included at Ferrari Land was also a real highlight, and the kids absolutely loved it.
There was plenty to keep everyone entertained, with fantastic rides, shows and attractions for both children and adults. We particularly enjoyed being able to walk straight from the hotel into the park and make the most of our time there.
Overall, it was a brilliant family break. The combination of a great hotel, excellent park access and Ferrari Land made it really good value and took away much of the hassle of organising everything separately.
We would definitely stay at Hotel Gold River again and would highly recommend it to families looking for a fun-filled PortAventura getaway."
"Definitely get the sea view room. Location is everything with this place. We went for the eclipse and as an older couple we enjoyed a relaxing day at the pool. It was not the kind of place we normally go. It is perfect for families and it was nice to see people having fun without screens. The staff was helpful but not intrusive. Appreciated that they were on top of keeping the floors dry with everyone dripping water. The place is a bit dated but it had a charm to it. The pool is the main feature and it was kind of nice that they close it early so you can enjoy the peaceful sea views in the evening. Elevators were a complaint for some but we were on the 3rd floor and didnt mind walking down. The other issue is the parking but we totally lucked out getting there early to get a spot near the hotel. We just kept up on paying the meter every 4 hours until the evening when parking was free."
"The whole hotel was very good. We stayed here last year and chose to return. The pool area and slides are excellent as are the animation team.
We were half board, good selection at meal times- some excellent food, some only ok but we always left feeling full and satisfied.
We had a late flight home, the girls at reception today (sat 8th) could not have been more helpful to us, they were so polite and courteous and had no problem allowing us up and back a few times to get stuff out of the cases in the store and also when we needed to have showers prior to leaving.
The rooms are very clean and well maintained and thankfully have air con.
No issues with this hotel- all good and we will definitely be back!"
