The room was clean, but poorly designed. In the USA, the room would be comparable to Motel 6, but with less attention to design. Even the television, that we didn’t watch, was in a location that made no sense. The room had no character. Everything was white, no pictures, no anything. The bathroom sink was designed for brushing your teeth, nothing else. The hall way had motion sensor lights, which is cool, but mostly this created a feel of walking down a dark hallway. The only way to access our room was to walk through the restaurant, trying to dodge people in the buffet line with our luggage. The experience was odd to a fault. With that said, the view toward the ocean was stunning. But, I can’t recommend the stay as being worth the price.

The hotel is located at the top of a hill with a great view of the bay. The rooms are very spacious even for 3 adults to share, and the WiFi signal is very good. The breakfast is also very good with plenty of seating.

Bed was great, clean place, great shower, helpful front desk. Room was right next to the lobby though, extremely noisy, especially with the guides waking up at 5 and making noise.

We loved our 2 days here! The room was spacious, modern, and perfectly set up. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The ease of access to the beaches and to Vik ( and all the puffins on the Vik beach) was great and the surrounding countryside views from the parking lot were beautiful.

The rooms are huge by European standards. Convenient location to Vik and the south coast. Great bacon at breakfast. Bed was comfy, bathroom was modern. Hair dryer and tea kettle in room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Quiet hotel. One negative is it’s situated on a hill that would be tough to drive up in the winter.

Great hotel for its price! Breakfast is a fabulous buffet, well beyond the standard continental fare. The check in clerk was SO nice and went out of her way to tell us where to see puffins!!!

Simple, clean rooms with fantastic view and access (driving) to Dyrholaey. Like many places in this area, the location is remote, so we opted for the nice dinner buffet. Breakfast was quite nice too (included).

The view from this hotel is amazing and the staff is polite. We had an amazing stay here for 3 nights where the buffet breakfast was delicious too with lot of gluten free options.

Beautiful location, one of the best breakfast I had in the country and decent semi-modern property. We were really impressed by the property, pictures don’t do justice. Things that can be improved is bathroom, no curtain or door resulting in water flooding the entire bathroom floor. An issue from service perspective, we reached quite late and no restaurants or stores were open. Even the hotel restaurant was closed and only bar was open. On enquiring receptionist responded you will have to stay hungry till the morning. Having a full fledged kitchen I would have expected a little bit more hospitality and offered something or even just a vending machine with snacks or fruits.

This was a secluded mountain location that had a beautiful night sky for star gazing. Unfortunately, we didn't see the northern lights while we were there. The breakfast was very bountiful, anything you could want.

This hotel hosts tourist group. So if you meet them in breakfast time, it is a disaster. The breakfast hall is crowded and some people don’t move with the line but cutoff suddenly in front of you. Also this hotel facility is way too old. The carpet does not look good. The reception hall has bad smell.

Had a great stay - one night - check in was easy and fast, room was very clean and twin beds were comfortable. I stayed in a 3-person room - the full-size bed was hard as a rock. The bathroom is a great size - only offers body wash and hand wash. We are picky eaters, so the buffets at night and morning were NOT for us, so we drove to VIK and had dinner at a restaurant. BEST THING EVER - THE TOWELS WERE THE SOFTEST TOWELS I HAVE EVER HAD AT A HOTEL. All in all, I would defintiely stay here again.

The hotel was beautiful, cozy, and everyone there was kind and helpful. We ate breakfast and dinner in house because we spent the day hiking but the meals we ate there were fantastic and the staff again were so nice. Tomato soup is the bomb and their margaritas were great. And it is the only place in Iceland I could find with American eggs for breakfast!! It was cloudy when we stayed unfortunately but the aurora app said we were likely to have seen the northern lights. The hotel is up on a hill which feels secluded and safe but close by Vik, the plane wreck, the two famous waterfalls, a group of ponies that come to the fence to pet, and only a few hours drive from the glacier hike we went on.
