The Wills Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We had been traveling for 4 days and this was by far the nicest place we stayed in. The staff are all extremely helpful, especially Caden, the concierge, at the front desk, who gave us good restaurant/ coffee shops recommendations and helped us a lot with directions and parking logistics. The room was beautiful, tasteful decor, very comfortable bed and pillows and two complimentary water bottles awaiting us when we arrived. Nice size small fridge, not filled with drinks like so many places. Gorgeous bathroom with a strong flow of apparently endless hot water. Very large windows with lots of light. This is a renovated historic building on the corner of Baltimore St. which is a historical neighborhood filled with great restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and an ice cream parlor. We were able to take a self guided walking architectural tour starting at the entrance to the hotel. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel."

"It was clean and generally comfortable, but The breakfast was not good: very limited options. There were 2 bins of cereal, one of which had a mixture of fruity pebbles, captain crunch, lucky charms, and probably a couple other random cereals in it. Like they just dumped in whatever… there were packets of instant oatmeal that were solidified."

"The staff at the hotel were the nicest people ever! We got to the hotel before the check in time, but they let us check in early. When we inquired about places to eat, they recommended the restaurant there and several of the waitresses chatted with us as we were checking out the menu trying to decide if I'd be able to eat anything on it because of my dietary issues. The hotel itself is decorated with a good mix of comfort and history. Our room was small and quaint. We were in the back of the historical section so it was quiet. The only complaints I have are the bed was way too hard, there isn't a fan in the bathroom and when I was showering the water all of a sudden got cold. Otherwise this is one of the best places my husband and I have stayed in! The hotel is right next to the state park where there's a spa and a Roman bathhouse where you can go soak in the mineral water. And again, the front desk clerks are the nicest, friendliest people!!! If/when we get back to Berkeley Springs, we will definitely stay there again, just not in the same room. 😊 "
