Courtyard by Marriott Sandestin at Grand Boulevard
6/10 Okay
"It was a very busy weekend. A large family reunion was going on. They over took the pool and staff was stretched. I felt safe. The gym is open 24 hours a day and the equipment is excellent! Our room was comfortable. I appreciated the kindness of the house keepers as they were doing their best. I loved that there was a publix very close by. The hotel provided everything I needed. It is very close to shopping and restaurants. Most importantly close to the beach!"
"I will say the staff was doing the best that they could and the location is good. BUT, the room reeked of marijuana and we are talking about oh someone nearby was smoking, more like a frat party on 4/20. The bathroom was super small and none of the towel hangers would stay in place. I can not even stress to you how much this olace looked like it was being held together with duct tape and bubble gum. Due to their short staff and over booking we got to a room at 7pm after arriving at 5:30pm. They were understaffed and doing the best that they could with what they had. The elevators were
nothing less than gross, the walls were ripped off in some places and had mold in others, only one elevator was working!
All that being said, the location and easy beach access was good. They at least had towels and coffee stocked in the room. For the price paid I guess I get what I ask for but I would have anticipated paying less for the condition of the room. If you’re on a budget and don’t mind the mess then this is the hotel for you."
"The parking garage below the building should be monitored and closed at capacity. Other than that, the elevator could use an update with the buttons not working. Over all great deal for price and location."
"We got there there at 3:45 p.m. We knew the paperwork said check-in was at 4 so we were fine with that. The guy sent me a text saying they would text me when the room was ready. We went down to the beach and walked for 25 minutes. When we got back they said the room wasn't done still. So we decided to go eat and wait on the text. We were gone until 6pm. STILL. NO. TEXT. We went in and they said yes it was ready. We went to the room and the bed is very stiff/uncomfortable, no mattress pad. Then I was looking at all the amenities and the shampoo, conditioner and body wash were all empty in the tub/shower combo and they left three small travel size shampoos beside the bathroom sink instead of hand soap which was weird so I went to the kitchenette to use the half-used bottle of dish soap and it was crazily watered down. I then was looking at the coffee pot which was open and had a full tank of water in the back which was just gross (it was open.) I poured the water out and peered into it and it was just gross. There was only one OPENED packet of sugar and creamer that was leaking sugar everywhere that was shoved half-hazardly into the top of the coffee pot. Water is leaking from the air conditioners above us and splashing onto our balcony. At 10:30 pm every night someone was smoking marijuana and we could smell it strong! If you're looking for breakfast or coffee, they don't provide any. The closest place is 9 min away to get breakfast. We won't stay here again or recommend it."
"When we arrived, we were put in a different room than what I paid for. I spent 1200 for 3 nights and the front desk person put us in a room that was more like a closet. After a few hours, I went to complain and they put us in the right room. Then the next day we get a call that our bands had to be rekeyed because the original person only did it for one night. This was the first time staying here and with all of the inconveniences, not sure if we will be back. Upon checking out someone else verified that we were put in the worst room possible. Not a good way to start out a birthday weekend. I will say the food was great, coconuts was good, overpriced but good. The beach access was great."
