"I am surprised that people rave about the breakfast.... DON'T GET THE BREAKFAST, we stayed in 5 hotels on our trip and this was by far the worst we had. The breakfast room was like a school canteen, it wasn't at all conducive to a relaxing breakfast, it took a long time for items to be refilled, and the experience was unpleasant. However, the room we had was excellent, the evening free bar and snack food (extra cost or upgraded room) was a really nice way to finish the evening or relaxing after a long day out. The hotel is really well located for getting around Kyoto and is in the. middle of a market but is very quiet and really convenient. Apart from the breakfast we enjoyed the hotel and the staff we came into contact with were really helpful."
