โFor a 1* pension hotel the room I had as a solo traveller was superb !
Good sized room, sink, fridge, and balcony was just perfect.
Also the property has clearly been renovated as everything appeared new and the common WC/ shower rooms are very modern with a very hot power shower.
Raphael and Carlos keep the property spotlessly clean and do a great job.
I highly recommend Pension Alcala, but its best to try and book a room with a balcony

โIt is important to note that this is a very small hostel. But that being said, they treat everybody that walks in their door like family.
Alejandro the manager is so attentive and friendly and excited about life. He is the perfect host and a cornucopia of information about the island and all the hiking that can be done there. He is also very happy to take you out dancing.
The place is spotless. The food they make is great. The volunteers that help out there are also top notch.

The hotel is perfect. The rooms are spacious and clean. The balconies all face out towards the sea so the views are amazing. The pool is the right temperature and very clean. We had breakfast included and that was plentiful and much variation for a small hotel. Special praise though to the staff, from management, reception, bar staff to the cleaners and maintenance guys. Everyone greeted you with a smile and a Hola ๐

โCannot recommend this hotel highly enough, especially โThe Retreatโ if youโre travelling as adults only. Our pool was generally very quiet and the service poolside was great - the tapas for lunch at Mirador was also a lovely addition, again with great staff and service. The little touches in our room for birthdays and our wedding anniversary was so nice, plus at our evening meals. Thank you again to all of the wonderful staff for making this such a memorable trip! โ
โAlthough the hotel itself is quite nice, the service lacks a lot. The front desk managers except one person were rude and careless.
This hotel really needs to educate its managers.
Also Wifi in the rooms did not work althogh I moved to another room for this reason.โ
โThe rock royalty receptionist on the 13th floor was amazing. She explained everything and couldnt do enough. She made us very welcome. The suite was beautful, hotel amazing.โ
โWe loved our stay at the resort. We stayed in Las Villas which I would highly recommend. Great for peace and quiet, but can also enjoy the rest the resort has to offer. Lots of good restaurants and bars with some good entertainment. We werenโt a fan of the beach, but personal preference we enjoyed the resort pools much more. โ
