"The owner is wonderful. Drove us to the airport to drop off the car, took us to a restaurant and picked us up later. The room was nice and had a spacious bathroom. The only reason I took off a start is because the room smelled terribly like cigarette smoke (Italians like to smoke). The staff offered air freshening spray, but it didn't help much. There were no other rooms available to switch to. "

"I don't want to hurt the ratings of this hotel but I wanted to explain a few things so that future guests understand a little more about the property. We booked a room with a king + 2 doubles for one single night as our last night in Italy before our 6 am 22 hr journey home. We wanted something comfortable and close to the airport so it seemed like a good choice, but I was a bit disappointed in a few things. The property itself is beautiful but overall could use some improvements. The AC was only working in one room. One room was about 7 degrees warmer. After maintenance tried to fix the situation for about 20 minutes in our room, we received a call that the other room is supposed to cool the warmer room. This was not correct because both rooms have their own thermostat and why were they trying to fix it for so long then? They then moved us to another room with a water view, but this room had a king bed and a sofa bed, which was comfortable, but less ideal for wanting excellent sleep. In this room there was water pooled at the base of the toilet so we immediately needed to use towels to soak up the water and had to navigate around that during our stay. I was hoping to use the pool in the evening once we were settled, but it closed at 6:30p which is earlier than I am used to, but maybe is normal for this area? They had a party going until about 11pm on a Sunday night, right under our room. Again maybe this is normal for this area? The 'airport shuttle' cost 70 euros FYI."
