Our stay at Mutianyu Great Wall Wangshanyuan Homestay was one of the highlights of our trip. The family who runs the homestay is incredibly friendly and welcoming — they truly treat you like family. The food was fantastic, especially the homemade dumplings and snacks, which were some of the best we had in China. They were also very helpful in planning our trip, offering great itinerary recommendations to make sure we made the most of our visit. They even arranged transportation to the Forbidden City and our airport transfer at a very reasonable price, and the car was very comfortable. The location is amazing — right next to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Our room even had Great Wall stones built into the walls, which made the experience feel even more unique and memorable. Highly recommend staying here if you want a warm, authentic experience near the Great Wall.

I enjoyed my stay and recommend staying there. I decided to stay after taking the bus from Beijing to see the Great Wall on a tour. The next day - I could explore the wall and the small town on my own. The accommodation was nice and the family that runs the hotel/homestay was really friendly. I am a vegetarian and enjoyed generous portions of good food while I was there. I also organized a taxi back to Beijing after my two night stay with the owner. His father drove me to the train station in a really nice electric car - so 'taxi' doesn't really describe the high quality of the car and very pleasant drive. I recommend staying here.

My son and I enjoyed a very pleasant two night stay at Wangshanyuan during our Great Wall hike in October. The room and property were both quite comfortable and clean and within walking distance of the main Mutianyu Great Wall entrance. The personal care and hospitality of the Yang family was excellent! We arrived very late due to our flight and I especially appreciated that Mrs. Yang stayed up to make sure there was a tasty hot meal waiting for us when we arrived. Her home cooking is very good Beijing food. Our host was also kind to inquire about our itinerary and offered various helpful tips, as well as transportation options to our next site.

Arrived a little early and we're greeted by the family. We dropped our bags off and had a quick freshen up before the owner drove us up the hill to The Wall carpark. He offered to pick us up but a local brought us back in the back of his little truck. That evening we had a lovely meal, all freshly prepared for us before retiring for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was simple and nice - eggs and corn bread. The family are really lovely people and so helpful, the father took us back to Beijing and our next hotel in a very comfortable BMW.

This is a family owned hotel. They literally take care of everything. Laundry, Taxi, Beverages and the food they provide in house for every breakfast and dinner is made fresh in their kitchen and it’s amazing. I absolutely loved staying here! Ask to go on the rooftop deck for a mountain village view.

Helt fantastisk sted!! Vi blev hentet i lufthavnen og kørt 1,5 time op til dette Homestay, som ligger 15 minutter fra Mytian muren. Vi overnattede 2 nætter hos familien, og de hjalp med alt fra installering af kinesiske apps, billetterne for os til besøg på muren, og de lavede særlig aftensmad så min søn kunne prøve dumplings, og generelt lavede de virkelig god mad til os. De kørte os retur til Beijing efter vores 2 dage hos dem. Sengene er standard kinesiske og hårde, men til gengæld så opvejer service med venlige mennesker og god mad helt klart. Vi vil komme retur, hvis vi skal se muren igen, og vi kan anbefale alle at prøve et Homestay her - og at blive hentet i lufthavnen mv.

Our room had a mountain view that even included a small segment of the wall. After walking the wall we were greeted with dinner at the hotel, and prior to our departure the next day, we were served breakfast. Couldnt have asked for a better experience, thanks.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mutianyu GreatWall Wangshanyuan Homestay, and I can't recommend it highly enough! When Yang Feng Rui picked us up at PKX airport, we arrived at their hotel, and his mom served us a warm, tasty dinner. It was 10 p.m., but they made us feel welcomed and cared for. The spacious, beautifully decorated room was perfect for our family of four and provided a comfortable retreat after a long day of travel (coming from Tokyo). One of the standout features of our experience was the airport pick-up and drop-off service. He was punctual, professional, and friendly, making the transitions between the hotel and airport seamless. It alleviated a lot of the usual stress associated with traveling. Of course, this is optional, and you need to pay on top of the hotel booking, but I highly recommend it. They served us breakfast, and he took us to the Great Wall at 8 a.m., allowing us to enjoy this ancient marvel (with five other tourists, so it was still empty). We were back at the airport by 11 a.m. with enough time before our 1:45 p.m. flight.

This homestay was so amazing!! The host messaged me right after booking and assisted us in transportation to/from the airport, as well as tickets and transportation to the Great Wall for an extremely reasonable price. The couple was so sweet, made us feel extremely welcome in their beautiful home, and even cooked us a delicious dinner and breakfast. We only stayed one night, but wished we stayed longer. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to visit the Great Wall!!

The property was at 15 minutes, waking distance to the Great Wall.However the owner changed 600.00 yuan’s for a trip to Beijing. The areas around the property were dirty. Don’t look like in the pictures!

I chose this hotel because airport transfer was included-however, it comes at a very high price. The amount they charged me for airport transfer exceeded the cost of my two night hotel stay. It’s hard to argue the price when you are charged as soon as you enter their home - you are immediately put in an uncomfortable situation. I felt forced to pay the high price to keep the peace.
