Birmingham, England hotel rooms at the YHA

"We went fairly late at about 11pm and were charged £5 extra to park at the hotel. Car park quite shoddy with some work being done. We had to leave early Saturday at 8.15am next morning …put your card in the basket. The property was rated £49 on the Thursday for Friday stay then on the Friday we decided to stay it was rated £59 so quite disappointed considering it was probably worth less. The room was small and towel only for one supplied. "

"We only ate the evening before our flight and it was OK we had to rise early to move the car as they said they were fully booked due to Crufts Dog Show. "

"Room was clean with fresh sheets and towels. No cold water in bathroom tap and sink not great for teeth cleaning. Breakfast was not really worth what I paid for what I had but fair selection of food. Parking was limited but I found a space no problem. You may struggle with this at weekends or during holidays."

"Room was clean & we had a superior room so mini bar and robes was included. Reception staff could have made us aware that the guest entrance to the spa was not open so that we wasn’t walking around public areas in our robes, & then we were told the spa was full even though we had checked before leaving our room. Spa was lovely once inside relaxing and staff were friendly. Casino had a great atmosphere as did the high line bar . "

"The staff were very helpful & informative. The breakfast buffet could have more items however it was still decent. For breakfast, we were offered vegetarian sausages seperately as the buffet did not have any vegetarian sausages. That was very thoughtful of the staff. The room had everything we required, a hairdryer, a fridge (requested earlier), a fan & were able to adjust the heating in the room. The spa facilities were nice & clean."

"Lovely clean room , friendly staff , easy check in and out. Was the perfect escape for our anniversary and hubbys birthday. Communication leading up to the day of check in was perfect too. Thank you to all at The Cube "

"Overall still a great hotel but noticing standards dropping, no hairdryer in room, tiles are getting dirty in bathroom. Breakfast buffet choice limited in comparison to a London 5* equivalent "
