Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary Downtown/Beltline District
10/10 Excellent
"Room was clean and very well-suited to remote work. The location of the hotel is great amd within walking distance of many great restaurants or a short Uber to even more great restaurants. The entire hotel is very business friendly and business forward. The breakfasts are better than most hotels. But most of all, the staff are all extremely friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Special shout out to Mercedes.
We stayed in a corner room near the train tracks, so while there is a great view there, there is some train noise. We were warned about it and offered another room if we didn't like it, but it really wasn't that bad and we slept fine. There was a white noise device to use if we wanted.
The hotel was quite busy with conventions and the elevators are quite slow, so we were grateful to be on a lower floor that allowed regular stairwell use."
"It had exactly what I needed for the weekend. It was conveniently located that every place I wanted to visit was not more that a $7 uber ride. The moxies downstairs is a bonus and the front staff were the friendliest I have found. Always my go to in Calgary"
Hampton Inn & Suites By Hilton Calgary- University Northwest
8/10 Good
"Room smelled of powerful cleaner! the window covering sucked! no way to get it dark in the room.
slept with a hoodie covering my face because the laundry detergent was so strong and hurting my skin!
no hot water for shower. the parking is a bit hard. its underneath the hotel, steep driveway, we missed the tiny sign where to tap the card and had to back up the slope to find instructions.
breakfast was very nice, the omelet had great flavor and fresh. waffle machines worked perfectly. front desk lady was very nice. cleaning staff in the morning were very friendly in the hallways. "
"Not a big room by any means, but it was quite nice. The bed was very comfortable. We would have liked an ice machine available, but made do without.
Loved that the Wild Rose Brewery & Taproom is a 10 minute walk away.
We didn't try the onsite restaurant, as we were in the mood for something less frilly.
Really enjoyed walking the halls, checking out the photos of Calgary's past.
All in all, a lovely spot."
