โ5 stars are not enough for the George and Dragon - the absolute best care and hospitality can be found here! Such a gem in a beautiful village with so much history. All the staff were so kind and accommodating, and the food was delicious and generous portions. Only place open for dinner in the evening so be sure to reserve! Highly highly recommend. โ
โLovely coaching inn in beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Welcome very friendly as was service throughout stay. Room not huge but adequate and very comfortable bed with good supply of linen. Whole hotel was kept well heated. Beautifully cooked dinner and breakfast. Would definitely stay again though not sure if menu changed much.โ
โOverall very good experience - the hotel, the rooms, cleanliness, staff, value for money, check in, check out, standard of rooms and facilities - All excellent. Except that there is cow dung smell when you open windows because of the farms and animals in the nearby houses, sheds etc. I understand its not related to hotel, but just rural locality. So i would still rate the hotel and stay as excellent.โ
โFood was freshly cooked and delicious. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient. We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay - we even stayed an extra night.โ
โVery Scottish decorโ for some reason.
Staff were over worked and doing multiple jobs as best as they could and as quickly as they good. Tending bar, taking orders, waiting on tables - just one person! They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. I could see how frustrated the staff and the customers were getting with the whole situation. The room was clean and tidy with good tea and...
โGreat location. Lovely comfy beds and very clean. Food excellent and staff attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend and will definitely return.โ
โWe arrived late and the front desk was so accommodating when the room we booked (two twin) was not available. They offered to convert a king room into a twin and were so helpful and friendly. The room was clean, tidy, and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was outstanding. Would definitely stay here again.โ
โThis hotel is an absolute hidden gem and the perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas. The views are nothing short of picturesque, and there are plenty of peaceful nature walks right on the doorstep.
The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with an incredible attention to detail that makes every corner worth exploring. Each room is uniquely decorated, cosy, and full of characterโtruly a home away from home.
The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, ideal whether youโre enjoying a...
โThis is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. We're looking forward to coming back and staying again, as the plans for new menus sound fantastic.
Room sizes and facilities are very adequate for a short stay. The location is very central for the surrounding walks,...
โStayed with a friend, visiting Gaping Gill. Good size twin room. Very comfortable and quiet. Slept very well, not disturbed at all. Breakfast standard buffet and cooked.
Staff really friendly, professional and helpful.
Lovely garden at the rear.
Didn't eat at the hotel.โ
