"I stayed at Carus Cappadocia for three nights in September 2026.
The good: The hotel has one of the best locations in central Göreme - literally a two-minute walk from the main street, with much less uphill walking than at many other hotels. Breakfast is a preset menu rather than a buffet, but adequate, and the rooftop restaurant has fantastic views and excellent service. The bathroom is spacious, water pressure is good, and Molton Brown toiletries are a nice touch. There is also a small indoor pool.
The bad: This is a “cave” hotel. My Suite had character but was certainly not luxurious. The AC/heat system did a poor job controlling the temperature, requiring frequent manual adjustments. The in-room safe is tiny - not large enough for a laptop - and mine stopped working shortly after being repaired.
The mixed: Wi-Fi and cellular reception did not reach the bathroom, presumably because of the thick cave walls. Parking is very limited, although the staff helped secure a spot throughout my stay.
Overall: I would consider Carus a solid 3.0–3.5-star hotel in a superb location. If you want the cave-hotel experience in central Göreme, it is an excellent choice - just arrive with appropriate expectations."
