Central Vermont, Vermont hotel rooms at the Independent

"Clean *enough* room. Linens and bath robe had slight stains but nothing overly worrying. Room was clean, no smell. Floor creaked like crazy due to old wood flooring. Second time staying up here this year. Love the ambience and the location. Unfortunately, we came just as O'Dwyer's and the hotel were about to shut down for the season. The check-in counter does have a very limited selection of beer and wine, but it's just not quite the right atmosphere when you finish skiing/snowboarding, pop into the hot tub but buy a beer from the lobby first. If O'Dwyer's was open OR if we had known they were shutting down when we booked, it would have let us prepare a little better."

"My Room was clean and spacious with a very comfortable king size bed, couch and comfortable reading chair. The staff was very polite and accommodating, also helpful with dining recommendations. It was also close to skiing, as I desired. It was a very good value and I was very comfortable during my stay. I would definitely stay there again."

"We just stayed one night at this hotel. The room was just outdated but pretty clean. We did notice on the morning there were two beers from the night before. They also have an outdoor heated pool that we didn't get to check out because it was raining but you can see Killington from the pool on clearer days."

"Breakfast was great. The hotel room itself was ok. Bathroom door didn’t close all the way and the hot water made a very annoying loud noise. There was even writing on the back of the bathroom door. Cable tv and internet provided and quiet location near the hotel. Coffee and tea and cookies available all day. "
